THE ACTIVE AMATERIAL IS IDENTIFIED AS THE DIGLUCOSIDE OF OLEANOLIC ACID. ANALOGUES THEREOF ARE DISCLOSED. THE ACTIVE MATERIAL IS STABLE AND EFFECTIVE IN NATURAL WATERS AT CONCENTRATIONS OF ABOUT 5-10 P.P.M.
