Abstract Lubricating composition comprising a hydrocarbon oil and polyethylene having an average molecular weight within the range of from over 1 million to about 5 million, the composition being of various forms, namely a fluid-like gel, a jelly-like gel and a rigid gel, depending on the amount of polyethylene present in the composition.
