Abstract AN ALUMINUM FOIL, BAND OR THE LIKE WITH AN ELECTRICALLY INSULATING OR DECORATIVE COATING APPLIED TO THE OUTER SURFACE THEREOF AND COMPRISING AN INNER OXIDE LAYER AND AN OUTER LACQUER LAYER. ALSO DISCLOSED ARE A METHOD AND AN APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING THE COATED FOIL OR THE LIKE IN A CONTINUOUS MANNER BY PASSING THE FOIL FIRST THROUGH AN ELECTROLYTIC ANODIZING MEANS FOR PRODUCING THE OXIDE LAYER AND SUBSEQUENTLY THROUGH AN ELECTROPHORESIS DEVICE FOR APPLYING THE LACQUER LAYER ONTO THE OXIDE LAYER.
