Abstract

Abstract An industrial oven is provided in its circumferential wall with a first group of burners so arranged that when they operate they inject into the chamber of the oven combustion gases which form therein a first coil filling the chamber and rotating in one direction. A second group of burners is also provided in the wall and so constructed that they inject into the chamber combustion gases which form a second coil therein which fills the chamber but which rotates in an opposite direction.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 13
Claim 1
Independent Claim 97 words
In an industrial oven, in combination, wall means defining an internal chamber; a first group of burners provided in said wall means and operable for injecting into said chamber combustion gases forming a first helix which fills said chamber and rotates in one direction about workpieces located in said chamber; and a second group of burners provided in said wall means and operable in alternation with said first group for injecting into said chamber combustion gases forming a second helix which fills said chamber and rotates in an opposite direction about the workpieces located in said chamber.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 97 words
In an industrial oven, in combination, wall means defining an internal chamber; a first group of burners provided in said wall means and operable for injecting into said chamber combustion gases forming a first helix which fills said chamber and rotates in one direction about workpieces located in said chamber; and a second group of burners provided in said wall means and operable in alternation with said first group for injecting into said chamber combustion gases forming a second helix which fills said chamber and rotates in an opposite direction about the workpieces located in said chamber.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 26 words
In an industrial oven as defined in claim 1, wherein said burners are high-speed burners injecting said combustion gases at speeds in excess of 50 m/sec.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 34 words
In an industrial oven as defined in claim 1; further comprising control means operatively associated with said burners for alternately operating said burners of said first group, and said burners of said second group.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 15 words
In an industrial oven as defined in claim 3, said control means comprising timer means.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 121 words
In an industrial oven, in combination, wall means defining an internal chamber; a first group of burners provided in said wall means and operative for injecting into said chamber combustion gases forming a first helix which fills said chamber and rotates in one direction; a second group of burners provided in said wall means and operative for injecting into said chamber combustion gases forming a second helix which fills said chamber and rotates in an opposite direction; and control means operatively associated with said burners for operating the burners of said first and second groups alternately when the heat-energy requirement is relatively low, and for operating said burner of both of said groups simultaneously when the heat-energy requirement is relatively high.
Claim 7
Claim 8
Independent Claim 75 words
A method of operating an industrial oven having an internal chamber, and a first and a second group of burners provided in the walls bounding said chamber and being respectively operable for injecting into said chamber combustion gases forming a helix filling the chamber and rotating in one or in an opposite direction, respectively, said method comprising the step of alternately operating the burners of said first group and the burners of said second group.
Claim 9
Independent Claim 75 words
A method of operating an industrial oven having an internal chamber, and a first and a second group of burners provided in the walls bounding said chamber and being respectively operable for injecting into said chamber combustion gases forming a helix filling the chamber and rotating in one or in an opposite direction, respectively, said method comprising the step of alternately operating the burners of said first group and the burners of said second group.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 22 words
A method as defined in claim 6, comprising thE step of injecting said combustion gases at speeds in excess of 50 m/sec.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 28 words
A method as defined in claim 6, wherein the step of alternately operating said burners comprises alternately activating and de-activating said burners of said first and second groups.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 45 words
A method as defined in claim 6, said step comprising operating said burners of said first group for a predetermined period of time, thereupon de-activating said burners of said first group and activating said burners of said second group for a predetermined period of time.
Claim 13
Dependent Claim 29 words
A method as defined in claim 6, further comprising the step of operating said burners of said first and second groups in unison, at the will of an operator.
