Abstract Method for controlling insects and fungi, in which the insects and fungi are contacted with a phosphorodithiolate of the formula, WHEREIN R is a lower alkyl; A is a lower alkyl, etc.; and B is phenylalkyl, etc. Two typical examples of the phosphorodithiolates are shown by the formula The compounds can be prepared by condensing a dithioate of the formula, WHEREIN A and R are as mentioned above and M is an alkali metal or ammonium group, with a halide of the formula,
