Abstract DESCRIBES BAFFLES FOR USE WITH DIMENSIONALLY STABLE METAL ANODES IN FLOWING MERCURY CATHODE ELECTROLYSIS CELLS TO CONTROL THE FLOW OF THE ELECTROLYTE THROUGH THE ELECTROLYSIS GAP AND UPWARDLY THROUGH THE OPENINGS IN THE ANODE WORKING SURFACES TO IMPROVE THE OPERATION OF THE CELLS, AND THE METHOD OF CONTROLLING THE FLOW OF THE ELECTROLYTE THROUGH THE CELLS BY THE USE OF SAID BAFFLES OR SIMILAR FLOW CONTROLLING DEVICES.
