Abstract A SHALLOW RECEPTABLE HAVING AT LEAST ONE RECESS THEREIN FOR HOLDING A GEL MEDIUM FOR PERFORMING BIOCHEMICAL DETERMINATIONS BY A TECHNIQUE AS RADIAL GEL DIFFUSION. THE SIDEWALLS OF THE RECESS POSSESS ARCUATE INDENTATIONS TO PROVIDE A SERIES OF BAY-LIKE AREAS. THE SHALLOW RECEPTACLE IS PROVIDED WITH A COVER WHICH HAS A TOP THAT IS DISPLACED FROM THE TOP SURFACE OF THE SHALLOW RECEPTACLE WHEN THE COVER IS PLACED OVER THE SHALLOW RECEPTACLE.
