Abstract

Abstract A process for the separation of butene-1 from other C4 monoolefins. A feed stream containing butene-1 along with another C4 mono-olefin is contacted with a crystalline aluminosilicate adsorbent selected from the X or Y zeolites containing barium or potassium cations at conditions to effect the selective adsorption of butene-1. The butene-1 adsorbed by the adsorbent is thereafter recovered as a purified product.
