Abstract A NUMBER OF DEFOAMER COMPOSITIONS BASED ON A SYSTEM CONTAINING AN ALIPHATIC DIAMIDE AND A LOW VISCOSITY MINERAL OIL ARE DESCRIBED. SOME OF THE COMPOSITIONS ADDITIONALLY CONTAIN SPREADING AGENTS AND A SILICONE OIL AND SOME CONTAIN A PARTICULAR DIAMIDE. THE COMPOSITIONS ARE USEFUL IN THE CONTROL OF FOAM IN PULP MILL OPERATIONS.
