Abstract
Abstract A chiller equipped with a scraper for crystallizing and separating p-xylene in a mixture of C8 aromatic hydrocarbons including p-xylene by indirect cooling, in which the scraped surface exhibits a surface roughness of less than 12.5-S as indicated in the Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) B 0601-1970, is disclosed.
