Abstract ANAEROBIC SEALANT COMPOSITIONS ARE PREPARED WITH MONOMERS OF THE GENERAL FORMULA: CH2=C(-R1)-COO-CH2-CH(-OH)-CH2-N(-R3)-CH2-CH(-OH)-CH2- OOC-(R2-)C=CH2 WHEREIN R1 AND R2 ARE SELECTED FROM THE GROUP CONSISTING OF HYDROGEN AND LOWER ALKYL AND R3 IS SELECTED FROM THE GROUP CONSISTING OF LOWER ALKYL, LOWER HYDROXYALKYL, CYANO, AND LOWER CYANOALKYL. THESE MONOMERS ARE REACTED WITH A VINYL ORGANIC ACID TO PREPARE THE AMINE SALT, AND ARE COMBINED WITH A SUITABLE INITIATOR, INHIBITOR, AND ACCELERATOR TO PREPARE AN ANAEROBIC SEALANT.
