Abstract 1,4-BIS-(HEPTAFLUOROISOPROPOXY-2-BUTENE IS OXIDIZED TO FROM THE CORRESPONDING EPOXIDE. 2,3-BIS((F3C-)2CF-O-CH2-)OXIRANE THIS EPOXIDE CAN BE CONVERTED INTO HOMO- OR CO-OPOLYMERS WHICH ARE USEFUL FOR ENHANCING THE REPELLENCE OF FIBROUS SUBSTRATES, E.G. FABRICS MADE FROM NATURAL OR SYNTHETIC FIBERS.
