Abstract

Abstract A thermoplastic bag is formed from a sheet of thermoplastic material which is folded and tucked to form a bottom gusset. The bottom gusset portion is sealed at opposite corners with an inverted V-shaped seal, and the sheet forming the partially formed bag is severed with a severing and welding medium along a line bisecting the V-shaped seal to form a bag which has a generally squared bottom. A plastic covered tin-tie fastener is secured to the face of a bag panel. When the bag is filled and closed, the ends of the tin-tie are bent upon itself and these bent ends are further bent upon themselves and tucked interiorly of the folded tucked side portions of the bag.

The bag as defined in claim 2 wherein said tin-tie fastener member has a length approximating but slightly smaller than the width of said panels when the bag is in the unexpanded condition.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 63 words
The bag as defined in claim 1 wherein the joined continuous upper end of each bonded area, which defines the apical portion of the triangular shaped heat sealed section at each side of the bag when the bag is expanded, is of arcuate configuration and extends arcuately from slightly below the tucked fold line to a point slightly above the median fold line.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 32 words
