Abstract
Abstract Process for the production of basic dyestuffs of the formula BY QUATERNIZING DYE BASES OF THE FORMULA IN THE PRESENCE OF ALKALINE AGENTS WHEREIN THE IMPROVEMENT COMPRISES ADDING AS ALKALINE AGENTS TERTIARY AMINES WHICH ARE SPACE OCCUPYING SUBSTITUTED ON THE NITROGEN ATOM. In the formulas given R represents the residual constituent of a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring; R1 and R2 are alkyl, cycloalkyl or aralkyl and R1 can additionally be aryl; A is an aromatic or heterocyclic radical and X is an anion. The compounds are used as basic dyestuffs.
