Abstract
Abstract Compounds of the class of 5,6,11,12-tetrahydrodibenzo(a, e)cycloocten-5,11-imine and the pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof have anti-tussive and simultaneously musculotropic spasmolytic activities; they are the active ingredients of pharmaceutical compositions and can be used for the treatment of tussive irritation; an illustrative embodiment is 2-methoxy-5,6,11,12-tetrahydrodibenzo(a,e)cycloocten-5,11imine hydrochloride.
