Abstract A METHOD OF HARDENING PHOTOGRAPHIC LAYERS USING A NEW MACROMOLECULAR TYPE HARDENER, TO PROVIDE A GOOD WATER RESISTANCE AND YET A SUFFICIENT WATER ABSORPTION AND SWELLING THEERETO, WHICH IS PREPARED BY DISSOLVING A HALOGENATED TRIAZINE COMPOUND IN A LEAST QUANTITY OF A GOOD SOLVENT FOR BOTH SAID COMPOUND AND A HYDROPHILIC ORGANIC MACROMOLECULAR COLLOID BINDER TO MAKE THEM REACT IN AN AQUEOUS MEDIUM, THE PRECIPITATING AND SEPARATING THE REACTION PRODUCT WITH A LARGE QUANTITY OF A POOR SOLVENT FOR BOTH.
