Abstract A TIRE CARRIER ADAPTED TO BE SECURED TO THE REAR BUMPER OF A TRUCK-TYPE VEHICLE IS CHARACTERIZED BY A RUGGED, HEAVYDUTY PARALLELOGRAM LINKAGE WHICH SUPPORTS THE TIRE IN A RAISED TRANSPORT POSITION AGAINST THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AND WHICH MAY BE SELECTIVELY LOWERED TO A REMOVAL POSITION WHEREIN THE TIRE RESTS IN AN UPRIGHT POSITION ON THE GROUND. THE CARRIER IS PROVIDED WITH AN AUTOMATIC LATCH TO SECURE THE CARRIER IN ITS RAISED POSITION AND A TRIGGER RELEASE TO ALLOW THE CARRIER TO SWING DOWN TO ITS LOWER REMOVAL POSITION. D R A W I N G
