Abstract

Abstract Supportive and protective means for mounting a cathode ray tube is formed of insulative material in a manner to have a planar mounting portion with an integral collar-like portion protruding therefrom. The mounting portion has an opening therethrough to accommodate the face portion of the tube. The collarlike portion is peripheral to the opening thereby providing encompassment of the face and forward portions of the tube. One area of the collar has a pocket formed therein to provide protection for the anode connection.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 4
Claim 1
Independent Claim 206 words
Supportive and high voltage protective means for mounting a cathode ray tube having an anode connection proximal to the face portion thereof, said means being formed of insulative material comprising: a substantially planar mounting portion having front and rear surfaces and formed to define an opening therethrough dimensioned to accommodate the face portion of said tube, said mounting portion having a plurality of spaced apart mounting provisions shaped to facilitate attachment of said mounting means to a support medium; a collar-like portion formed as an upstanding sidewall integral with the rear surface of said mounting portion in a manner substantially peripheral to said opening to provide peripheral encompassment of said face and forward portions of said tube envelope, said collar being substantially normal to the plane of said mounting portion; and a specific provision formed in one area of said collar portion as an outward protrusion to provide an open pocket in said peripheral encompassment, said pocket being oriented to open away from the rear surface of said mounting portion, the sidewall of said pocket having an aperture therein to accommodate and provide protection for said anode connection; said pocket being filled with insulative material to insulate said anode connection and securely anchor the same therein.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 206 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 206 words
Claim 4
