Abstract
Abstract Linear addition of polymers having pendant quaternized aminimide groups are provided by homo- or copolymerizing a quaternary derivative of a N,N-disubstituted acid hydrazide wherein the acyl moiety is acrylyl, methacrylyl, or crotonyl. The quaternized aminimide groups of such polymers are neutralized and then converted to isocyanate groups. Polyurethane and polyurea crosslinks can be prepared from the resultant polyisocyanates having utility in molding, surface coating, adhesive and the like applications.
