Abstract
Abstract A method and apparatus for producing extra wide and/or laminated non-woven webs from very thin, lightweight arrays of highly-drafted and aligned fibers. The fibers are drafted and aligned into thin webs by separate draw frames and deposited at selected points and particular angular orientation on an inclined moving belt. Deposition is made in juxtaposed side-by-side arrangement for wide webs, or one ply upon another when a laminated construction is desired. The planar angle at which each web is deposited on the receiving belt is arranged with respect to the plane of the belt so that the fibers are held under tension during the entire operation.
