Abstract AN IMPROVED PROCESS FOR DYEING WATER SWELLABLE CELLULOSIC FIBERS, ALONE OR BLENDED WITH SYNTHETIC FIBERS, BY CONTACTING THE FIBERS THROUGHOUT WITH AN AQUEOUS SOLVENT OR A SOLVENT SOLUTION OF A PREFORMED DISPERSED DYE, SAIID SOLVENT CONSISTING OF ETHYLENE GLYCOL OR A DERIVATIVE THEREOF, THE IMPROVEMMENT COMPRISING INCREASING THE FIXATION OF DYE ON THE CELLULOSIC FIBERS BY ADDING AN EFFECTIVE AMOUNT OF BORIC ACID, BORAX OR A MIXTURE THEREOF.
