Abstract

Abstract Electromagnetic devices such as inductors and autotransformers having improved suppression to sparking or high voltage peaks at the terminals and between coil windings are provided using certain sintered metal oxide insulators having varistor characteristics. The metal oxide can be employed in conjunction with magnetic core material, as a composite core in such electromagnetic devices.
