Abstract A SYSTEM OF THERMALLY OPALIZABLE GLASS COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING SIO2, AL2O3, B2O3, NA2O, CAO AND MGO. THE ABOVE-MENTIONED COMPOSITIONS CAN BE USED TO FORM OPAL ARTICLES HAVING OUTSTANDING PROPERTIES SUCH AS LOW COEFFICIENTS OF THERMALLY EXPANSION AND HIGH RESITANCE TO THERMAL SHOCK AND CHEMICAL ATTACK. THE RESULTANT ATICLES, WHICH ARE CONVERYED TO OPAL ARTICLES DURING FORMING OR BY SUBSEQUENT HEAT TREATMENT ARE USEFUL, FOR INSTANCE AS CONTAINERS INCLUDING COOKWARE AND DINNERWARE.
