Abstract

Abstract A solenoid having an axially movable armature is coupled to and arranged to displace the movable member of a punch press. A plurality of different tools may be clamped to an anvil and tool holder of the punch press for either assembly line or work bench type of production. The apparatus is small and relatively light in weight. The solenoid may have resin encapsulated, coiled aluminum foil strips instead of the more conventional wire wound coil.
