Abstract
Abstract A machine for automatically filling containers such an ampoules and the like having a circular indexing table for moving the containers through a filling station. A liquid filling device having a discharge nozzle, an adjustable volume metering chamber and a valve controlling the filling of the chamber and the discharging of the liquid to the container through the nozzle. A powder filling device having a reservoir and a nozzle, the powder filling device and the liquid filling nozzle being rotatably mounted for alternative use at the filling station.

Apparatus for filling containers with a predetermined volume of diverse flowable materials comprising a turntable, drive means for intermittently rotating said turntable, means on the periphery of said turntable for receiving a plurality of containers spaced apart, at least one filling station located adjacent the periphery of said turntable such that a container is aligned with the filling station between each intermittent rotational movement of said turntable, support means located adjacent the filling station, powder filling means including a hopper having a powder dispensing motor mounted on said support means, liquid filling means mounted on said support means, said support means being movably supported to permit selective positioning of one of said powder and liquid filling means at said filling station for filling a container located at said filling station.
