Automatic signal registration in colour television cameras
Abstract
Abstract A colour television camera including first and second pick-up tubes is disclosed, which camera includes automatic means for ensuring registration of the video signals derived from said tubes. The video signals derived from said tubes and relating respectively to different spectral components of a scene to be televised are passed through respective outline generator means to produce respective identification signals which are indicative of selected edges in the scene. The identification signals are applied to an error detecting circuit which is arranged to generate a correction signal dependent on the degree of misregistration between the video signals, and the correction signals are utilised, either directly or indirectly, to tend to reduce the misregistration.
