Abstract
Abstract This invention relates to a separator for removing cuttings from drilling fluid. This separator has a series of inclined flow plates inside a vertical tank. The flow planes or plates are zigzagged, that is, adjacent plates are inclined in opposite direction. Each plate is provided with vertical, slanting baffles. The flow path of the solids carrying drilling fluid begins at the bottom and flows up over each plate and baffle system and out the outlet at the top. Each plate is provided with a drain at its lower end for removing trapped solids.
