Abstract IN A PROCESS FOR POLYMERIZING TETRAOXANE, SULFUR OR AN ORGANIC SULFUR COMPOUND WHICH IS ADMIXED TO TETRAOXANE ACTS IS POLYMERIZATION INITIATOR FOR TETRAOXANE. SOME OF THE ORGANIC SULFUR COMPOUNDS, SUCH AS THIIRANES, THIOCYAMATES AND THRTHIANOXIDES, IMPROVE HEAT STABILITY OF THE PRODUCED POLYOXYMETHYLENE REMARKABLY.
