Abstract IN ORDER TO INCREASE THE PERMANENCY OF CHLORINATED PHENOLS (IN PARTICULAR PENTACHLOROPHENOL) IN WOOD TO WHICH THEY HAVE BEEN APPLIED AS FUNGICIDES A SALT OF CHROMIC ACID WITH AN ORGANIC BASE IS EMPLOYED TO ACT AS A FIXATIVE. PREFERABLY THE ORGANIC DICHROMATED AND THE CHLORINATED PHENOL ARE APPLIED TO THE WOOD FROM THE SAME SOLUTION IN AN ORGANIC SOLVENT.
