Abstract A PROTECTIVE COATING MATERIAL APPLIED TO GLASS FIBERS PRIOR TO BEING DRAWN TOGETHER INTO A STRAND AND WHICH WHEN PARTIALLY CURED GIVES THE STRAND A HIGH DEGREE OF INTERGRITY. ORGANIC RESINS REINFORCED BY THE STRAND HAVE HIGH IMPACT STRENGTH. A PREFERRED EXAMPLE OF THE COATING MATERIAL COMPRISES A COPOLYMER OF VINYL ACETATE AND NORMAL METHYLOL ACRYLAMIDE.
