Abstract THE EXHAUST GAS FROM INTERNAL COMBUSTIO ENGINES OR THE LIKE IS TREATED TO CONVERT HARMFUL OR POLLUTANT COMPONENTS SUCH AS NITROGEN OXIDES, CARBON MONOXIDE AND UNBRUNED HYDROCARBONS TO INNOCUOUS COMOUNDS, BY CONTACTING THE WXHAUST GAS WITH A CATALYST COMPOSITION CONTAINING NICKEL, COBALT AND MANAGNESE IN CATALYTICALLY EFFECTIVE AMOUNTS, DEPOSITED ON A CARRIER SUCH AS ALPHA ALUMINA.
