Abstract METALLIC MERCURY IS PRODUCED BY LEACHING MERCURY ORE WITH AN AQUEOUS ALKALINE SULFIDE SOULTION WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY PRECIPITATING THE MERCURY BY THE ADDITION OF A METALLIC PRECIPITANT, SUCH AS ALUMINUM METAL, DIRECTLY TO THE LEACHING TANKS, OR BY ELECTRODEPOSITION DIRECTLY FROM THE LEACHING TANKS.
