Abstract
Abstract Acetylenic alcohols especially dehydrolinalool are produced by reaction of a ketone with acetylene in N-methylpyrrolidone in the presence of sodium hydroxide. The resulting mixture of dehydrolinalool and N-methylpyrrolidone is preferably separated by distillation through a column and washing the vapors with water.
