Abstract

Abstract Room temperature vulcanizing silicone elastomers are prepared by the addition of a novel cross-linking agent such as acetoxypropenylenyltriacetoxysilane to a silanol chain-stopped polydiorganosiloxane fluid. These compositions are stable, free flowing fluids in the absence of moisture but cure to a rubbery, solid elastic state upon exposure to moisture. These compositions are particularly useful as adhesives in difficult bonding situations such as attaching glass window panes to aluminum window frames.
