Abstract A MEMBRANE OF A FLUOROCARBON POLYMERIC MATERIAL IS ARRANGED IN CONTACT WITH TWO ELECTRODES SO THAT AN ELECTROCHEMICAL CELL WILL BE FORMED WHEN WATER WITH AN APPROPRIATE ION CONTENT IS ABSORBED BY THE MEMBRANE. IN USE THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CELL ARE EFFECTED BY OXYGEN DIFFUSING INTO THE MEMBRANE FROM A SOLUTION UNDER INVESTIGATION.
