Abstract IN A METHOD OF PREPARATION OF HYDROPHILIC SILICONES BY RADIOCHEMICAL GRAFTING, A COMPOUND OF THE SILICONE FAMILY IS FIRST EXPOSED TO IONIZING RADIATION IN AN OXIDIZING MEDIUM. THE IRRADIATED BODY IS THEN PUT IN THE PRESENCE OF A MONOMER AT A TEMPERATURE WITHIN THE RANGE OF 120 TO 168*C. AND THUS ENDOWED WITH AN ABSORPTIVE CAPACITY FOR WATER.
