Abstract
Abstract The purity of reactor coolant is controlled by removing a stream of water from the reactor system at the pressure existing in the reactor. The removed stream is then passed to at least one low pressure area wherein the pressure is reduced to release flash steam which is employed to heat feedwater fed to the system. The water remaining after flashing in filtered to remove solids and is demineralized and is then returned as pure feedwater to the system.
