Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 3
Claim 1
Independent Claim
110 words
A method of terminating a cable containing a plurality of optic fibers, comprising the steps of: a. providing an optic transmission cable having a plurality of optic fibers surrounded by a pliable covering, said fibers exposed on one end thereof; b. providing a stamped and formed terminal, said terminal having a closable top opening, laterally extending wings defining groove on each side thereof, and a smooth interior surface; c. inserting said cab le into said terminal via said opening; d. closing said closable top opening until said terminal becomes frictionally retained by said pliable covering; and e. polishing said exposed ends of said optic fibers to improve light transmission therethrough.

Claim 3
Dependent Claim
49 words
The method as recited in claim 1 and further including the step of sliding a lens member having parallel spaced apart legs over said exposed ends, said grooves on said terminal adapted to receive said legs and said wings on said terminal adapted to removably retain said lens member.
