Abstract
Abstract A basic azo dye of the formula WHEREIN: R1 is methyl or ethyl, R2 is amino or a substituted amino radical, X is an anion, Y is the radical of the formula R3 being cyclohexyl, p-methoxyphenyl, p-ethoxyphenyl or pmethylphenyl, R4 being methyl, ethyl, butyl, p-methoxyphenyl or p-ethoxyphenyl and R5 being methyl, ethyl or butyl. These dyes are useful in dyeing textile material of an acrylonitrile polymer or an anionically modified polyester in blue and violet shades with good light and wet fastness properties.
