Abstract
Abstract An ultrasonic buttonhole apparatus comprises an ultrasonic generator, a converter with horn, and a stationary anvil. The anvil is provided with a patterned face to cause a frame-like fused portion and with a moveable slitting means which is raised dduring a portion of the sealing (weld) cycle, thereby causing selective fusing of the workpiece interposed.
