Abstract
Abstract A worm drive is formed of a cylindrical worm which meshes with a worm wheel, and the cylindrical worm has cycloidally shaped flanks. The combined configurations of the worm and worm wheel provides two lines of contact between their corresponding flanks when they are in meshed engagement.
