Abstract
Abstract Tris(hydroxyalkylphenyl) derivatives of thiopropionyl hexahydrotriazine compounds can be prepared by reacting 1,3,5tris(hydroxyethylthiopropionyl)-hexahydro-1,3,5-triazine with 4hydroxy-3,5-dialkylphenylpropionyl chloride or benzoyl chloride. An example of such compounds is 1,3,5-tris(4''-hydroxy-3'',5''-ditert -butylphenylpropionyloxyethylthiopropionyl)-hexahydro-1,3,5triazine. These compounds are useful as stabilizers of organic substrates subject to oxidative and thermal degradation.
