Abstract A PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF SPHERICAL PIECES OF ANHYDROUS ALUMINUM CHLORIDE HAVING DIAMETERS OF MORE THAN 1 MM., COMPRISING PROVIDING A LAYER OF PIECES OF SOLID ANHYDROUS ALUMINUM CHLORIDE IN A ZONE, CONTINUOUSLY MIXING THE SOLID ALUMINUM CHLORIDE IN THE ZONE, FEEDING PREHEATED ALUMINUM CHLORIDE VAPOR INTO THE LAYER AND THEREBY INTO CONTACT WITH THE SUBDIVIDED SOLID ALUMINUM CHLORIDE AND EXTRACTING HEAT FROM THE ZONE.
