Abstract
Abstract A body of sintered metal oxide material exhibiting highly nonlinear resistance characteristics includes a base and plurality of members projecting therefrom. Electrodes in the form of electrically conductive material are plated on some or all of the major surfaces of the projecting members and base. The electrodes provide connections to electrical conductors connected to the power input or output terminals of a single or polyphase electrical apparatus and the nonlinear resistance characteristics of the metal oxide material provides desired line-to-line and line-to-neutral transient voltage suppression in accordance with the connections of the electrical conductors.
