Abstract
Abstract An all-plastic electric capacitor having electroconductive organic plastic as electrodes, e.g., polystyrene film having neutralized sulfonic acid groups on the surface thereof, and nonconductive organic plastic as dielectric material, e.g., a vinyl chloride/vinylidene chloride copolymer film. Such plastic capacitors are particularly useful in low frequency applications requiring transparent or translucent capacitors.

A transparent thin film capacitor according to claim 1 comprising a first electrode of a layer of an electroconductive organic plastic, a layer of dielectric material coating a surface of said first electrode and extending beyond the edges of said first electrode, and a second electrode of an electroconductive organic plastic coating the other surface of said dielectric layer and electrically insulated from said first electrode by said dielectric layer.
