THE FIBERS ARE PRODUCED FROM BASE GLASSES AND WITH TECHNIQUES SUITABLE FOR FORMATION OF LONG STAPLE FIBERS AND THEN SUBJECTED TO TREATMENTS TO ALTER THEIR COMPOSITION AND STRUCTURE FOR ADVANTAGEOUS HIGH TEMPERATURE APPLICATIONS. THE FIBERS ARE PARTICULARLY SUITED FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF PAPERS AND FELTS.
