Abstract A PROCESS FOR EFFECTING THE DESULFURIZATION OF A HYDROCARBONACEOUS CHARGE STOCK ACCOMPANIED BY THE RECOVERY OF SULFUR THEREFROM. CATALYST REGENERATION FACITITIES ARE INTEGRATED WITHIN THE PROCESS, AND THE SULFUR DIOXIDE RESULTING THEREFROM IS REACTED WITH HYDROGEN SULFIDE, RESULTING FROM THE CONVERSION OF THE SULFUROUS COMPOUNDS IN THE CHARGE STOCK, TO PRODUCE ELEMENTAL SULFUR.
