Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 7
Claim 1
Independent Claim 131 words
A slide fastener tape comprising an outer end, a main portion, an edge portion, a curved fold joining said main and edge portions, a plurality of fastener interlocking elements attached to said edge portion, end stop means including a stop member disposed at an adjacent end one of said interlocking elements and substantially enveloping at least intermediate parts of said edge portion with such enveloped parTs terminating adjacent said curved fold, said stop member being formed of a mass of fusible material disposed at said outer end and set to grip said edge portion from a side opposite said interlocking elements, and said mass of fusible material having a curved lip contiguous an inner surface of said curved fold to increase a bearing area between said stop member and the tape.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 131 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 276 words
A slide fastener comprising a first tape having a first outer end, a first main portion, a first edge, and a first curved fold joining said first main portion and first edge; a second tape having a second outer end, a second main portion, a second edge, and a second curved fold joining said second main portion and second edge; a first plurality of interlocking elements attached to said first edge; a second plurality of interlocking elements attached to said second edge; a slider riding on said first and second interlocking elements to control interengagement thereof, said first and second curved folds generally engaging each other thereby presenting a seam-like appearance when said first and second interlocking elements are interengaged; end stop means for limiting movement of said slider, said end stop means including first and second stop members disposed at end ones of said first and second interlocking elements, respectively, and substantially enveloping at least intermediate parts of said first and second edges, respectively, with the enveloped parts terminating adjacent said first and second curved folds of said first and second tapes, respectively; said first and second stop members each being formed of a mass of fusible material disposed at said first and second outer ends, respectively, and set to grip said first and second edges, respectively, from a side opposite said first and second plurality of interlocking elements; and said mass of fusible material for each of said first and second stop members having a curved lip contiguous an inner surface of its corresponding curved fold whereby bearing areas between said first and second tapes and said first and second stop members are increased.
Claim 4
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 14 words
The invention as recited in claim 2 wherein said material is a thermoplastic material.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 32 words
The invention as recited in claim 3 wherein said first and second edges have threads therein made of said thermoplastic material whereby said first and second stop members fuse with said threads.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 43 words
The invention as recited in claim 4 wherein said first and second interlocking elements are made of a continuous filament of said thermoplastic material whereby said first and second stop members fuse with said end ones of said first and second interlocking elements.
