Abstract Flame-retarded polyurethane materials and foams containing a flame-retarding amount of a synergistic combination of a phosphorus-containing polyol having from two to about eight hydroxyl groups and an aromatic carboxylic acid having at least two carboxyl groups attached to one or more benzene nuclei.
