Abstract

Abstract A disk-type winding for electrical inductive apparatus which is constructed from individual coil sections containing one or more disk-type coils. The individual sections are wound separately with the conductors secured by a bonding material. The bonding material also serves as a spacing member when the coil sections are assembled into a complete winding assembly.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 10
Claim 1
Independent Claim 10 words
disposing an electrically insulating spacer material on said coil section;
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 22 words
The method of claim 1 wherein turns of the coil section are interleaved and cross-over connections are made within said coil section.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 38 words
The method of making disk-type windings of claim 1 wherein the spacer material is of an uncured or semi-cured resinous composition which will become plastic and flow around the conductors of the coil section during the curing process.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 10 words
adjusting said coil section dimensions to conform to predetermined values;
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 11 words
curing of said spacer material to stabilize said coil section dimensions;
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 20 words
The method of making disk-type windings of claim 1 wherein the spacer material comprises kraft paper pulp and phenolic resin.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 12 words
assembling a plurality of said coil sections with an insulating cylinder; and,
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 36 words
The method of making disk-type windings of claim 1 wherein the spacer material is disposed radially on each disk section, and extends axially around said coil section, at incremental sections spaced about the coil section axis.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 29 words
The method of making disk-type windings of claim 1 wherein adjusting the coil section dimensions to conform to predetermined values is accomplished by heating and compressing the spacer material.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 4 words
interconnecting said coil sections.
